Krause Auto Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Automotive Parts Manager to lead a busy and growing Parts Department in the Metro Atlanta area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Parts Manager or Parts Department leader who understands that a successful parts operation is about more than inventory—it’s about people, processes, profitability, and exceptional service.

In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day Parts Department operations while working closely with Service, Sales, Technicians, vendors, and customers. You’ll have the opportunity to implement best practices, improve inventory control, develop your team, strengthen vendor relationships, and drive departmental profitability.

What You'll Do

As the Automotive Parts Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Parts Department. You will lead your team, manage inventory and vendors, support dealership operations, and develop strategies to maximize efficiency and profitability.

Parts Department Operations

  • Oversee all day-to-day Parts Department operations
  • Manage parts ordering, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and distribution
  • Oversee retail and wholesale parts sales
  • Ensure parts are available when needed to support Service, Sales, and customer needs
  • Establish and maintain efficient department processes and procedures
  • Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency

Inventory Management & Profitability

  • Maintain accurate and efficient inventory levels
  • Forecast parts needs based on dealership demand and sales trends
  • Monitor inventory performance and control unnecessary costs
  • Analyze parts sales and profitability metrics
  • Develop strategies to maximize gross profit and departmental efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve parts sales and overall department performance
  • Manage warranty parts returns and ensure proper procedures are followed

Vendor & Business Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parts vendors and suppliers
  • Manage vendor performance, pricing, availability, and service
  • Evaluate purchasing opportunities to support profitability and inventory needs
  • Manage department budgets and control operating expenses
  • Work with leadership to establish and achieve department goals

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, train, coach, and mentor Parts Department employees
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance
  • Create a customer-focused and team-oriented environment
  • Support employee development and identify opportunities for professional growth
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration throughout the dealership

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Service Advisors and Technicians to ensure an efficient parts flow
  • Partner with the Service Department to minimize repair delays and improve customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Sales and other dealership departments as needed
  • Communicate effectively with dealership leadership regarding department performance, challenges, and opportunities
  • Maintain a high level of customer and employee satisfaction

What You Bring

  • Previous Automotive Parts Manager or Parts Department Leadership experience required
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts operations
  • Experience with inventory control and forecasting
  • Strong vendor management and purchasing experience
  • Understanding of Parts Department profitability and performance metrics
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with dealership leadership
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement
  • Collaborative, team-first attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDK experience highly preferred
  • Previous automotive dealership Parts Manager experience
  • Experience managing both OEM and aftermarket parts
  • Experience with retail and wholesale parts operations
  • Experience developing and implementing inventory management processes
